That Thumper. So full of wisdom. |
I posted a chapter tonight, the first one I have posted since before Thanksgiving, and subsequently received a couple of flaming reviews about my inconsistent updating. So let's address this, shall we? Please note: the majority of this post is directed toward the individual(s) who isn't (aren't) ballsy enough to sign their flaming reviews.
Exhibit "A":
I'll address this one first. I gave a warning about the cliffie and this is the reason. I am very aware that it takes me a while to update. It has nothing to do with being a "review whore". If you read the author's notes (which obviously you did not), you would see that I do not beg for reviews. I love and appreciate every one, even the critical ones, but I don't beg for anything nor will I whore myself out for anything. And yes, there will be an update next Tuesday. Maybe even before that because now you've just pissed me off and fueled my fire.
Exhibit "B":
First of all, I will not "just stop". No one is forcing you to read my stories. You can take me or my stories off alert. That way you won't be bothered by the updates.
Second, When I See You Smile is not on hiatus. No, I have not marked it as "complete" but the author's note (once again, if you had read it) clearly states "This is the last regular chapter" and goes on to say that I plan on writing an epilogue but have no idea when it will be posted.
I know this topic has been addressed a million times already, but I want to touch on it once more. Fanfiction authors do this in their spare time. No one is paid to do it. I'm not going to lay out my entire life story but I have a full-time job, a four-year-old and a husband. My parents are older and their health is not the greatest. I spend a lot of time taking care of my family because, at the end of the day, they are all that matters.
I am not someone who can sit down and the words just flow from my hands. I wish I had that talent but I do not. I have to be calm, in the right frame of mind and focused.
For all of you that have been so supportive of this story, you have no idea how much I appreciate your love and support. Reviews still give me the same thrill as they did when I first received one, but rest assured that I do not sit behind my computer and salivate over them. That's a little creepy.
For my anonymous reviewer, well, all I can say is Bless Your Heart.
